Who Uses Kettlebells?
I was fortunate enough to spend several months during the summers, to design kettlebell based workouts with Pavel Tsatsouline for the training of a NFL Fullback and two-time Super Bowl Champion using kettlebells. We radically improved his speed, flexibility, mobility, and strength, with the kettlebell as the primary tool.
I also have been working with a 69-year old interior decorator grandmother of two with degenerative disc disease and a history of lower back pain. She can deadlift her body weight for reps. She uses the kettlebell as her primary fitness tool.
I work with single mothers and small business owners. Both my parents, in their sixties, use kettlebells.
I have had the privilege of training law enforcement, firefighters, and members the military, and martial artists from around the world to become certified kettlebell instructors.
The point is the list is wide and varied.
Kettlebells, then, are used primarily by people who value efficiency and economy in their workouts — people who want a large return on their investment for the amount of time they invest into their workout routines. These are people who no longer will stand for or are satisfied with the status quo in the fitness and exercise world. They want more bang for their proverbial buck.
As you can see, this list ranges from elite and professional athletes, to firefighters, law enforcement officers and other first responders, to housewives, martial artists, and even members of the US Military’s Special Forces.
In a word: Everybody uses kettlebells.
